New airline rates…

July 24, 2010

A friend of mine emailed me this earlier, a few good laughs.

The worst airlines I’ve flown on are the European low-cost carriers (LCCs). I actually enjoy flying on Southwest Airlines, who pioneered the low cost airline concept, but the European LCCs are a different story. All sorts of ridiculous fees, bagage restrictions, seats that have less leg-room than my baby’s high-chair, etc.

Worst of all, their employees are practically paid in peanuts and the pilots who hire on as F/O typically have to pay for their own training to the tune of $20,000 or more, so instead of hiring based on personal and pilot qualifications, money becomes the deciding factor.
