Mooney Acclaim delivery to Poland

May 7, 2010

Just got back from beautiful Poland after delivery of a Mooney Acclaim. Here’s the route for our trans-Atlantic ferry flight from Aurora, IL (USA) to Wroclaw, Poland.

As a pilot I’ve always enjoyed flying Mooneys for their quick handling, and during a ferry flight the pilot really gets to appreciate the speed of a Mooney. In the Mooney Acclaim we routinely saw true airspeeds over 200kts at conservative power settings over the North Atlantic.

Ferry flight from USA to Poland was a total of 5,092 nautical miles in 4 days, including one tire change and a cranky volcano. Check the links below for a few pictures and notes from each day:

day 1: Aurora / Chicago to Goose Bay.
day 2: Goose Bay to Qikiqtarjuaq.
day 3: Qikiqtarjuaq to Keflavik.
day 4: Keflavic to Wroclaw.

And my favorite picture of the whole trip:
